Fighting off the Monday morning syndrome

It’s Monday - the perfect day to start the week off right! Today’s the one day of the week we all dread, because we have so much to do, we’re feeling a little groggy and are in need of some serious de-intoxicating of our bodies. This weekend was a big one – with the senior harbor cruise on Friday and the Pub crawl on Saturday. We all know that working out is a great way to de-tox and energize by sweating out everything left over in our bodies from the weekend and getting ourselves energized. But it's cold out...and all I want is something warm and delicious that I can enjoy while studying for the exams/projects I have this week.
Start your morning off with a delicious cup of coffee, or better yet a hot cup of tea! Both are great ways to get your metabolism working! All teas are great, but green tea is superior with exceptional health benefits. While green tea is generated by the same plant that other teas come from, green tea is dried and steamed rather than fermented, so it’s less processed and therefore better for our bodies. Its superior health benefits are contained in its antioxidant main ingredients such as caffeine, catechin polypphenols and theonine. Green tea stimulates us, boosts our immune system by giving us tons of antioxidants, it firms and tones our skin – making us feel and look healthier - because of the herbs it contains that act as astringents for our skin, it reduces cholesterol, helps in weight loss due to its ability to speed up our metabolism. It’s also a stamina and endurance booster which we all need on Monday mornings. Finally, it’s a great de-tox tool! Green tea is the perfect cure for the Monday morning syndrome we’re all facing right about now…(it’s also a great cure for hangovers =) )
Green tea is good for our bodies and great for our wallet. You can pick up a box of at least 24 tea bags at Shaw’s for under $3.00 and all you need is hot water to finish the job. My personal favorite is Harney & Son’s green tea with coconut, vanilla & ginger. Check it out: http://www.harney.com/Green-Tea-with-Coconut-Ginger-30-Sachets-in-a-tin/productinfo/35419/ Mmm… Sooo delicious!!!
Have a great one 
